WHAT ABOUT VEGAN LEATHER?
Vegan leather is wonderful because it's not made from animal skin. But why is it not so wonderful? Because nearly all types of vegan leather are made from plastic polymers, which leach harmful microplastics and will sit in landfills for centuries. There are also a few eco-friendly plant-based types on the market, but only those without a petroleum-based coating are truly biodegradable. Natural fabrics on the other hand take only up to 5 months to decompose, making them a far more sustainable and ethical material.
